Red, Purple and Food waste bags can be found locally at the Community Hub in Maryport St, Usk, the Sessions House, Usk and the Co-op in Usk (normally in a brown box outside the entrance to the shop)

Yellow Hygiene Waste bags are available on request from Monmouthshire County Council.

Monmouthshire is also conducting a trial of glass recycling in some areas.  For those taking part in the trial Glass is placed in a green box instead of the the purple recycling bag.

The Brown Garden Waste collection is £18 per permit per year.  You can purchase as many permits as you like but you must have one permit per bag.  Permits are available online (https://forms-Monmouthshire.gov.uk/greenwaste/v2 gwip.asp

Furniture and large household items

Homemakers Community Recycling collect large items such as furniture, beds and white goods on behalf of Monmouthshire County Council.  They aim to reuse and recycle as much of these as possible.  There is a charge of £12 for up to 3 items which increases for any additional items.  Please check their website (http://www.hmrecycling.co.uk/).

Monmouthshire Recycling Centres

There are four recycling centres in Monmouthshire
Llanfoist, near Abergavenny and Five Lanes, Caerwent - they accept most items but Asbestos will require booking in.
Usk and Mitchel Troy accept more limited items and this list can be found on the Monmouthshire County Council Website
