Work has now started on the refurbishment of the K6 telephone box in Llanbadoc Island.

Following lengthy back and forths with CADW, Planning and Heritage Officers Llanbadoc CC are now able to proceed with refurbishing the box to house a brand new, fully automatic defibrillator and heated cabinet.

The telephone box will be repainted and the Perspex panes will be replaced with laminated glass. A new sensor activated light will be installed along with a new spur to power the heated cabinet.

Adjacent to the telephone box Llanbadoc CC will be installing a new double-fronted oak noticeboard which will be shared with St. Madocs Church for council and church related notices.

New paving will be fitted around the box to make it easy to access in the event of an emergency.

The telephone box has been a landmark of the Llanbadoc ward for many years and it will be wonderful seeing it put back in community use with a vital piece of equipment that could save the life of someone visiting the island or the community.
