Wales & West Utilities have advised that they are planning to change the traffic management on Tuesday 8th May 2018. This will involve the lifting of the remaining portion of the Phase 2 Closure on Castle Parade, thus fully reopening the A472 through Usk, while at the same time implementing the Phase 3 Closure of the northern end of New Market Street.

The works covered by the Phase 3 Closure are expected to require approximately two weeks to complete, 8th May to 20th May, whilst the connection at the bridge is undertaken. Please find attached a copy of the Traffic Management Plan for Phase 3, which shows the length of New Market Street to be closed together with the diversionary route, which will be via Bridge Street, Castle Parade, Twyn Square, Priory Street, Church Street, Maryport Street and Old Market Street.

There will also be temporary multi-phase traffic signals installed around the bridge, the purpose of which will be to allow the commencement of the works along the A472 toward Little Mill.
